With a 5.31” diameter, and 8.27" height, this medium sized black & silver patina AquaFlame is still small enough to be placed on smaller side tables. It's diameter is 5.31" compared to the smaller size which is 4.37" and the larger size which has a diameter of 7.28". All 3 sizes (small, medium and large) use the same core (pump, water and LED housing), but the medium and large sizes have a metal ring on top of the decorative metal outer sleeve to support the core. The oxidized metal finish of the decorative metal outer sleeve is known as "patina" which means that each piece is unique with slightly different coloring. Add water to the AquaFlame’s core along with 3-5 drops of citronella oil (5 ml bottle included) if you're using it outdoors and turn the fountain on for a relaxing evening without the bugs. You can also use your AquaFlame to diffuse your favorite essential oil. Use the included remote to turn the AquaFlame on and off, to set the timer mode, and to set the color and brightness of the LEDs. Choose from any of the 16 colors with a press of a button or set it to color morphing mode to let the AquaFlame cycle through all the colors. We recommend using distilled or purified water in your Patio Essential AquaFlame water fountain to prevent mineral buildup. Since water evaporates, we recommend checking the water level periodically and filling as required. We also recommend periodically changing the water and cleaning the inside of your water fountain with a small amount of white distilled vinegar. Let it soak for about 15 minutes and then rinse out the vinegar.

Create a "Barrier of Protection" against bugs! How many times have you bought a citronella candle, put it on your patio table to keep the bugs away during dinner and then felt cheated because you were still covered in mosquito bites at the end of the night? We get it, in fact most of the Patio Essentials team admits to making the same mistake before they learned what they call the “Barrier of Protection”. Citronella oil does work as a natural bug deterrent and has for a long time. It was first registered in the United States in 1948 and it’s currently on the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s list of minimum risk pesticides. As it turns out, the reason that one candle at the center of patio tables doesn’t work as well as people had hoped is because citronella helps keep bugs away by masking the scents that they’re attracted to (aka us and our food) – and when we put a single candle on the table and then we all sit around it, we’re actually masking the citronella scent of the candle more than the candle is masking the scent of us. Enter the Barrier of Protection. The idea is to create a barrier between you and the bugs by placing multiple citronella candles, torches with citronella torch fuel and AquaFlames with citronella essential oil around the perimeter of your outdoor space. The Picture posted is a perfect example of a Barrier of Protection where the scent of citronella is better able to block the smells of people and food inside the perimeter that would otherwise be attracting mosquitoes and other pesky bugs. All of the yellow hexagons represent garden or tabletop torches and the orange circles represent citronella candles or outdoor AquaFlames. You can see that we do still have candles, table top torches or AquaFlames in the center of both the dining table and the coffee table in the seating area, they just aren’t the only citronella product in the area, so they work with the other candles and torches. Right now you’re probably thinking that’s a lot of torches and citronella candles, but the good news is that a lot of Patio Essential's products come in three or six packs just for this reason.
