LightsandBatteries.com exclusive! This is the real deal, and isn't a
cheap counterfeit! Don't be fooled by low quality, cheap solar power
bank chargers. We have enough confidence in this product to put our
name on it! Unlike other vendors on the market, we test each and everyone of these power banks before shipment because we want to make sure you receive a working product.
The granddaddy of solar power banks! This huge 12,000mAh portable USB power bank
with a 1.7W solar panel charger is the ultimate solution for on-the-go outdoor
enthusiasts. Its thin, lightweight,
weatherproof and shock resistant ABS, PVC & silica gel housing will work with many makes and models of smart phones
such as the Apple iPhone, Samsung Galaxy, Nokia Lumina, and other makes such as
Blackberry, Motorola, LG, Sony/Ericsson, etc.
It will also work with other portable electronic devices such as iPads,
iPods, digital cameras, PSPs, MP3 & MP4 players, PDAs, Bluetooth headsets, etc. The ultimate in practicality and versatility
because this USB power bank can be charged from its state-of-the-art built-in
solar panel or from an external power source, and it also has a built-in white
LED flashlight. It’s small enough to fit
in your pocket, or hang it on the outside of your pack, so the sun can charge
it up while you are hiking! Its solar
power charger allows it recharge any time it’s exposed to bright ambient
lighting or sunlight, so if you don’t plan on having access to an electrical
outlet for a long period of time, then this is the perfect power bank for you.
The power bank has 3 ports: a micro-B
USB input socket and 2 regular (type A) USB output sockets. Charging of the power bank is accomplished
through either the built-in solar panel or through the micro-B USB input socket,
and charging of your smart phone is accomplished through either of the 2 regular
(type A) USB output sockets. It can even
charge 2 devices at the same time! It
has 4 LED indicators that indicate the power bank’s state of charge, a white
LED that can be used as a flashlight, and it has a recessed power button to
prevent accidental power cycling.

Operation
When the power button is pressed,
the power bank will turn on, and the 4 LEDs will indicate the power bank’s
state of charge. 1 steady lit blue LED
indicates the power bank has a 25% charge; 2 steady lit blue LEDs indicate a 50%
charge; 3 steady lit blue LEDs indicate a 75% charge, and 4 steady lit blue LEDs
indicate a 100% charge. The blue LEDs
will only remain lit for several seconds after the power button is pressed and
then they will turn off, provided an electronic device isn’t plugged into one
of the regular (type A) USB output sockets and actively charging. It is important to note that the power bank
must first be turned on in order to charge a device that is plugged into one of
the regular (type A) USB output sockets.
In other words, it is necessary to turn the power bank on in order to
charge an electronic device. If an
electronic device is connected to the power bank and charging, and you want to
turn the power bank off, simply press and hold the power button for a few
seconds until the blue LEDs turns off.
When the ambient lighting is bright
enough to charge the power bank, the left-most LED will illuminate a steady green
to indicate that it is charging. This
power bank can charge from bright ambient room lighting and can even charge on
a cloudy day. It may not charge if something
is blocking part of the solar panel like an article of clothing, etc. This power bank can be charged from the
built-in solar panel while it is charging a cell phone or other electronic
device, and the left-most LED will illuminate a steady green to indicate
charging. Note, this power bank will
automatically turn off when charging from an external power source via the micro-B
USB input socket, so charging of a cell phone or other electronic device is not
possible during this time.
When the power bank is plugged into
a power source, a blinking blue LED indicates that the power bank is in the
process of charging to achieve that particular percent state of charge. For example, if 3 of the blue LEDs are steady
lit, and the 4th blue LED is blinking, then the power bank has a 75%
charge and is in the process of charging to achieve a 100% charge. Once all 4 blue LEDs are steady lit, then the
power bank will have a 100% charge.
This power bank can also charge
devices that only require a small amount of charging current like a Bluetooth
headset. Some power banks will
automatically turn off (but not this one!) once the charging current drops down
to a small value which can sometimes prevent these types of devices from
charging.
To turn the white LED flashlight on,
press the power button twice quickly. To
turn it off, press the power button twice quickly again. It is important to note that charging of an
electronic device is still possible while the white LED flashlight is turned
on.
Notes:
· This power bank has an auto-off feature which automatically
turns the power bank off when the electronic device charging current drops down
to a small value. This is done to help
conserve power, and it usually occurs once the electronic device being charged
has achieved a 100% state of charge (or close to 100%). However, this feature can sometimes prevent 100%
charging of certain types of devices that only require a small amount of
charging current such as a small Bluetooth headset.
· This power bank has a built-in over-temperature protection
circuit which can become activated when left in direct sunlight. The power bank will still be able to charge
from the solar panel, and the LED flashlight feature will still function, but
it will not be possible to charge an external electronic device until the power
bank is allowed to cool down, and the over-temperature circuit has reset.
· It may not be possible to fully charge a new power bank to
100%. If this occurs, please fully
discharge and then attempt to fully charge the power bank. Repeat this discharge/charge process a few
times until the power bank will fully charge to 100%.
